"Since ancient times, vessels shaped like animals have been created. Inspired by this tradition, we developed a method for attaching the handle using bamboo’s natural elasticity, while carefully considering the functionality needed for tea utensils. I hope you enjoy using it not only as teaware, but also as a pouring vessel for sake or soup stock."

Makoto Komatsu, Designer

Origin: Japan

Material: Semi-porcelain
Handle: Bamboo
Tea strainer: Stainless steel

Dimension: 17.4 x 10.9 x 15.2cm (566ml)

Inspired by the motif of a tori (bird), this charming teapot features a softly rounded shape that adds warmth to your table. Crafted from red clay with a Kiln-altered glaze and finished with a natural bamboo handle, it highlights the rich texture of the materials. The spout is cleverly shaped like the bird’s face, giving the piece a whimsical, almost lifelike expression.

A matching Tori teacup is available on a separate page.

***Product characteristics: Metal marks, color staining, crazing, pinholes, glaze unevenness, iron spots. Each bamboo handle is handcrafted, so slight variations in texture, color, shape, and subtle handmade marks may occur. These natural differences add to the charm of each piece, making it truly one of a kind.
